The latest news emerging from the mobile world is that the iPhone 6, the 2014 iPhone model, could well arrive much earlier than normal during the first quarter of the year. It is believed that Apple are keen on changing the launch schedule as it will give their latest flagship device a better chance at competing against numerous other rival devices which are released at a similar time. Traditionally new iPhone get a release towards the back end of the third quarter or occasionally at the beginning of the final quarter of the year. This latest news comes courtesy of tech site Patently Apple and they have said “A new report today is citing a note by Citi Research saying that Apple will launch an iPhone with 4.8-inch screen next year. Contrary to Apple’s traditional iPhone events held in September, Citi’s note says that the larger iPhone design is being scheduled to debut in Q1 2014″. In another related piece of news this week it has been reported that the much rumoured cheaper iPhone will arrive prior to the release of the iPhone 6, probably towards the end of this year.
Despite this latest news not directly mentioning the iPhone 6 it does specify the 2014 iPhone and it is widely accepted that this handset will be named the iPhone 6. Some talks had stated that the iPhone 5S could actually be the model to be released next year but it looks as though that handset will be the one we see during 2013 and there is even the possibility that it could be the cheaper device that has been rumoured. Part of the Patently Apple story also mentioned that the next generation device would include a 4.8 inch screen, news that will be welcomed by Apple fans across the globe. The current iPhone 5 handset boasts a 4 inch screen but this is much smaller than what many new Android devices are offering. A new 4.8 inch screen should enable Apple to offer a handset that will appeal to consumers looking for larger displays while older iPhones will still be available for those wanting a more compact device.
It seems that Apple may break tradition and introduce the new iPhone 6 much earlier in the year than normal. This will delight consumers who have been eagerly waiting for this new device which is reported to boast a brand new design along with its larger display.
